Works to be undertaken
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) manages and maintains 122 wharves and other maritime structures on Sydney Harbor including the Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers, as well as a few regional locations in NSW. Maintenance Services are delivered though maintenance contractors to meet the needs of the public, service providers and various commercial operators. The program aims to maintain TfNSW assets to ensure safe, reliable, and resilient service delivery while representing best value over the asset life cycle.
Ausling has played a key role over the last 18-months with their team providing onsite management, engineering, and surveillance support.
Key elements of the works include:
Procurement of engineering and design services
Management of consultants
Asset handover
Investigations, structural analysis, and development of repair details
Major substructure and concrete soffit repairs at Circular Quay promenade
Timber substructure and deck repairs at Manly Wharfs
Timber substructure and concrete deck replacement at Campbells Cove Jetty
Replacement of fender systems for various ferry wharfs
Replacement of cathodic protection systems across all assets
Design fabrication and replacement of aluminium gangways at various wharves
Marine piling
Seawall repairs
Routine maintenance
Essential services testing and maintenance
Comprehensive condition assessments in accordance with (WSCAM 2022)
Prioritisation of maintenance works based on condition assessments
Stakeholder engagement
Ausling’s Project Manager is currently providing on-site support to the Maritime Wharf Maintenance team to deliver maintenance works and provided previous support in the form of a Contracts Manager and Surveillance Officer to assist with development of systems and processes to aid in maintenance delivery whilst mitigating impacts to service delivery.
