The Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads highway upgrade is a major infrastructure project that enhances connectivity and safety between these two regions. The project’s most challenging aspect was the construction of the new alignment, which involved crossing the Nambucca River and the floodplains of Warrell Creek. This upgrade not only addresses traffic flow but also improves access for local communities.
Project Highlights

• Major Bridges: Construction of large bridges over the Nambucca River and Warrell Creek. First time post tension U girder design used in Australia.
• New Interchanges: Development of new interchanges at Bald Hill Road, Warrell Creek, and north-facing ramps at Old Coast Road, providing safer access and improved connectivity.
• Utility Adjustments: Comprehensive adjustments to utilities across the project area to accommodate the new road alignment.
• Design review: Undertook numerous design reviews due to innovative design.
